This piece was inspired directly by the energy of Metallica’s legendary show at Ford Field in Detroit. I created this portrait using a multi-layer stencil process to define Papa Het’s fierce command of the stage. Every layer was meticulously hand-applied with professional-grade acrylics on an 11×14″ stretched canvas.
Inspired Palette: To honor the aesthetic of the 72 Seasons era, the colors are drawn directly from the album’s signature high-saturation, graphic palette. The result is a bold, “street art” style tribute that carries a physical depth and texture that only a hand-painted original can offer.

The entire work is sealed with a protective satin varnish, which deepens the color tones while eliminating the harsh, distracting reflections caused by room lighting.
